The Update: November 2026

By John Rae · Released November 2026 · Posted November 7, 2026

This month's update

Oracle's 26D guides are out and still changing, with the Financials guide revised as recently as November 2. Most of the attention goes to AI agents, but the work for most teams is plainer: find what arrives without anyone asking, and decide what waits. One example is a change to purchase agreements imported from external prices. A date change on a contract line now updates the existing line, where it used to close that line and create a new one, so any report that counts on the new line needs a test. Elsewhere, the Infor 2026.10 feature release is rolling out, NetSuite 2026.2 has been rolling out since July, and SAP's next release is 2702 in February.

Three things to do

  1. Download the 26D feature summary tables for Financials, Procurement and Common Technologies, then sort every row into forced, adopt or defer. The two columns that matter are impact and action to enable.
  2. Decide who owns the AI unit budget. Oracle now lets administrators set budgets, watch consumption by user and stop new runs when a budget runs out. Set a warning threshold before anyone turns on an agent.
  3. Find out where you stand on multifactor sign-in. Oracle says new environment families require it, and the identity upgrade for existing environments is scheduled separately from any quarterly update.

One event coming up

Oracle runs "Turn AI On (ERP): Highlights of 'Strategy in Innovation' from AI World 2026 ERP Sessions" on November 16 at 10 a.m. Pacific. If you own Finance on Oracle and missed AI World, this is Oracle's own hour on agentic applications and the ERP foundation it says they need. One take, one Decoded

My take on the 26D readiness material, including what I would ignore: https://erpmg.ai/events/oracle-26d-readiness/

How this is funded

Nobody pays for what I write, and nobody sees it before it posts.
